yg at caribou coffee

some fun pix from a while ago with the Youth Group.
these students are GREAT! we are hoping to have more time to dive a lil deeper with them in the next year- but it has been a great 9 months thus far.

this morning was pool time with the cousins, lunch at grandma and grandpa's, naps, dinner and now Toy Story 1. we are prepping sally for her first theatre experience of Toy Story Three! (okay, she technically saw Kung Foo Panda when she was about 3 weeks old- slept thru the whole thing)

gow is beyond cranked with work. trying to meet deadlines so we can head to MN this weekend for a family reunion on my side of things.....
the past two days we have only had conversations while one of us is sitting in the bano. =)
pretty pathetic.
we are both ready to have it slow down a bit.....

he is almost done with two interesting pieces on the Wilson Football factory - the only USA football plant- it is super interesting.

tomorrow he will start on another Harley Davidson project.

k- gonna go try and pack a bit of the girls stuff for this weekend.

toodles

the augs

good mornin-

so here are some pix out on a boat with our good friends the Augs....

seriously- Benton slept thru the entire process of life jacketing him, "driving" the boat and the whole boat ride. this pix just cracks me up!

Brad and Benton

Sarah, Ela, Benton (yes, he rode for quite a while like this..) and sallycita

Gow and Daisy Kate

just sleeping... sally kept poking his tummy, i think just checking to see if he was still alright.

sally touching the water

and this was one of those "would have been SWEET photos" but with four little ones moving and me rushing to snap the pix- pushed the wrong button on the camera.
Ela WAS holding Daisy and Sally is holding baby Benton.

John arrived yesterday in time to catch the 2nd half of the USA/Ghana game (total disappointment in the USA loss). it has been awesome to have he and sharon be able to come as often as they live in Gaute. we feel like they truly "get us" and have gotten to know each place that we have lived since being married. he and gow watched a movie at my bro's big screen and i had a much needed quiet evening to veg and catch up on some things.

today may hold a boat ride (cept it is looking pretty rainy out there), church, possibly some chicago style pizza, maybe some culver's custard and just hanging out.

lately i have been REALLY enjoying my 2 hours with DK in the mornings.
the lake is serene, the town is quiet, there is this one restaurant that starts their bacon at like 6 am, the only other peeps up and out at that time are peeps who also enjoy the refreshing morning air.
then we come home and have Oats together. =) i am on a new oatmeal kick. have you ever read the ingredients on an Oats canaster? it is amazing, i am not sure if there is any other food that i eat that has absolutely nothing else added. makes me feel healthy and skinny just thinking about it. =)
but the thing i am enjoying the most - is Daisy Kate. she is super duper interactive and really quite silly. it's kind of like we have our own early morning inside "jokes" together. there are things that we laugh at/share and in the midst of it she is super snuggly and endearing with holding my hand at times or laying her head on me just for a few moments at a time.
this morning i discovered her third tooth starting to poke out.

k. i am off!
love to ya'll

its been awhile

hello to everybody out there.....

i think this is the longest break from blogging in the lg blogging history.
not even to birth our pretty lil girls did i stay away from los gowanitos.com for so long.
=)

well, i am back.

much has been happening good, bad, some ugly, alot of chaos and alot of fun all at the same time.

let's do news on the girls...

daisy is waving, blowing kisses, free standing, shrieking at ear piercing volumes, a new game is to chase sally around the house- both girls giggling and shrieking in delight. she loves patty cake, growls at all animals, eats tons of table foods and is just a SUPER great baby. she is happy almost all of the time. dk and i take early morning walks together at the lake almost daily and she is a big time snuggler. it is often that she will be crawling around on the floor and then zip over to me, lay her head on my leg and just snuggle for 10 seconds and then zoom off.
daisy is also a disaster in the tub. standing up as she pleases, slipping, falling, crawling- a definate HANDS ON job. she cracks me up to watch crawl from carpet to any hard surface... she immediately lifts up off her knees and walks like a monkey.

sally jane- she just had some funky virus. one night she slept from 8pm - 1:30pm waking only long enough to take meds one time not even getting out of bed. she watched about 5 hours straight of the tube and then went back to bed for 5 hour naps for three days in a row. she didn't eat much and then had a funky rash on her arms, legs, tummy and face. she seems to be herself again, however has been strange/hard with going to sleep. today she even asked to leave the park- the place that we usually have to bribe her away from.
on a cheerier note- i was setting her on a chair for supper tonight and she reached up, pulled my neck down nearer her and gave me a kiss. the first kiss i have randomly recieved from her! it made my heart sing .

this week- auntie jane came to town to help us pack, clean and move.
well- she came, we packed and cleaned a bit- but we didnt' move. =)

the pearson house is going thru foreclosure and has liens on it.... we will wait and pray. we are 100% confident that God is guiding and it is WONDERFUL to feel secure in HIS PLAN.

we may look at other properties as nothing is for sure with the pearson home.

all in all- we had a great week with auntie jane! it was productive, fun, good bondin and also a big blessing as there were many times that Sally needed extra attention. thanks auntie Janie!!!

last weekend we watched my sister's three kiddos while she and dave went to MN for a friend's wedding. it was crazy as we had a tornado watch, 12 hours without electricity and about 5 hours of bailing water from a pump in the basement to avoid flooding in the middle of the night. it was crazy- but turned out to be quite the teambuilder! and again- we were so very thankful that auntie jane (sta lucia) arrived when she did to help us save the farm.

the rest of the weekend my fam helped us with the kiddos- it sure is FUN and soo great to live so close to fam! thanks guys for all of your support.

in all of this- gow has been stoked on the world cup and has continued to have full work.

we are truly blessed.

k- enough words- here are some fun pix in the tub!

weekend

was blessed to have korita bonita here this weekend to help me with the girls.
we had a good time, i did some poor planning on activities/weather... but we did some garage sale-ing, swimming, walking downtown, starbucks sipping, chick flick watching, playing with the girlies, chit chatting and just have a good time together..... thank you auntie korita for coming up to help and hang out!

now... we are all three super, super, super, SUPER ready to have gow come home. =)

(he went camping near st. louis with james, mark and danny tippet for tippet's bachelor celebration)

wow- what a day

not sure what to blog exactly as this has been an intense- whirlwind- crazy day.

should i start with sharing the good, the bad or the ugly?

will save the best for last...

ugly= gow and i are pretty worn down on the house stuff. to save you all the messy details... it's simply not looking like this house is going to come thru. we are going to give it another week or two, but each day we are letting it "go" more and more.

bad (for me, not for them)= our good friends Scott, Julia and Corrin are leaving us. They are driving off to a new town, new job, new life in the morning. Julia and I have become good friends- we've shared tons as our little ones are only 2 weeks difference in age and we have lived only 4 blocks apart. we have laughed together, cried together, cherished baby things together and prayed together.... i miss you already Julia! and am praying that God be going BEFORE you guys to prepare a perfect place and community for you three!

the good = a pair of our good friends got ENGAGED today!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!! we are soo sooo super duper stoked for them!!! (and will let them remain nameless until they have had time to announce their joyous news to the world) =) ahhhhh God is GOOD!!!!!

k- now will share some pix...

we were walking to the park one night and sally for some reason decided to hug a tree! so i took a pix cuz she just kept on hugging it!

this is by far THE BIGGEST smile we have captured on camera.
we had a fam date to a local bakery and Sal got to pick out whatever she wanted... Blues Clues was it! and she was incredibly pleased.

i love waking DK up from naps, and this pix captures a bit of her groggy lil face and body lang.
i usually walk into the girls' room and quietly talk to her, then gently rub her back as i watch her lil eyes open, look around and try to orient herself. often if sal is with me the previous mentioned action is accompianed with a "WAKE UP DAISY WAKE UP" =)

some sisterly loving.

the girls got some sparkly heart stickers in the mail from Natalie Payne... they spent 2 hours playing like this.....

some day, not to far in the future, daisy will have her own sweet revenge. =)

good night!

slow house action

howdy.

well some baby steps are happening with the Pearson house...

1) there is an appointment scheduled to have the basement approved by the city.
2) the seller is beginning to pack
3) we are getting our finances in order
4) we have an appointment for next week to measure for carpet

please keep praying with us.

about a month ago we went to surprise Marquitos for a bday celebration.

this is sally with her "activity backpack" (christmas gift from Auntie Karen-it's packed with fun things like poohbear stamps, play dough, a mini tea set, crayons and we take it places.

Mark and Kora have started a coffee shop outreach thru their church- it is super cool.
And we got to see Marquitos' barista skills! some GREAT coffee and hot chocolate!
daisy's "coffee" treat too!

seriously- was a FUN time!

happy birthday uncle marquitos!
note sally's crown- auntie korita is always making her feel special.
also note the monkey shirt- sally is on a monkey, pony and tinker bell kick as of lately

we grilled. YUM

bonding. =)

i can't remember why, but gow told me to take this pix for kat and ca-leb! =)

DAISY NEWS....

Daisy waved to auntie Cyndie (and nobody else yet!) three times!

we have also spied Daisy standing without holding onto anything for support numerous times... for about 5-10 seconds at a time

no matter what mass of water she is in.... pool, lake, tub... she is drinking it.
she literally crawled face first into the lake and tried to drink it.

she is 100% done with nursing. she has a bottle 5 times a day and 3 regular meals.

daisy also has her bottom two teeth!

k....
best be going now...
enjoy ya'll's evening.

YG (team sheep BAAA) on the ropes course

Yesterday was a sweet-action day with the youth group on the ropes course at camp.
It was a super fun time- had by all that involved some TEAM BUILDERS (WOOT WOOT), some high ropes action-jackson and then the GIANT SWING.

It was a bit of lovin to my soul as I haven't been on a course in about 8 years.
There is nothing like the thrill of looking 40+ feet to the ground and then making a leap into the air praying that the ropes and knots will indeed hold ya.
Challenge, encouragement, excitement, nervousness and TOGETHERNESS was all in the air.
Our YG did great- both in pushing themselves and also in pushing and putting courage into each other.

LOVED IT.
