one more with Sgedly...

We had a super great time having Sged here... she even got to go with us on Monday to hear the baby's heart beat!

Of course we went to introduce Sged to the Veggies...

Sged is genius with the trumpet and in high school we were always saying, "it's not a tuba" (in a Arnold S. accent)!

This is for the new pirates movie that is coming out in January to theaters!

Sged contemplated what SHE would like to create at the studio...

So we recorded her voice for the next vegetable! Maybe "Amy the Avacado"?

Gow showed us some silly songs at one of the editing station that he works at...

Sged making friends with the French Peas!

That's it!

Gow is currently at Shoneys talking scripts with 2 writers at the moment and then will head to the Studio to do some work.

We are headed up to Chi-town and Lake Geneva for my dad's retirement party on Tuesday night and then Thanksgiving with the DeVries fam.
Neal, Cyndie and kids are in route to Lake Geneva with their moving truck on the way!
It will be a fun and busy time of celebrating my dad's 40 years of ministry with the Covenant, unpacking Neal and Cyndie's house, celebrating Thanksgiving and hopefully stopping to see Turners and Taubes on the way.

Happy early Thanksgiving to you all!
We are so thankful for TRUE friendship and AMAZING family.
Travel safe and know that we are thanking God for each of you!

drum roll please........

ta da!

wah-lah!

so here's my belly.

This looks SHOCKINGLY big.... cuz I don't really wear fitted shirts like this right now.- so i am not this noticeable. but i put one on for the pix to show off the belly.

If you notice in other pix that I have been posting lately-- you won't notice my belly like this... so consider this special privileges. =)

These day I seem to have almost "normal" energy level. We are staying up a wee bit later and I actually can DO things after work in the evenings. =)

On Monday we had a Dr. appt. - as the Doc was looking for the heartbeat she commented that the baby is REALLY active- moving alot.

So the update this week is that our lil plum is about 6 inches long, is developing his/her hearing and is swimming in my belly!
I think he/she is doing laps.
=)

we will find out the gender the wednesday after Thanksgiving!!!
would you like to place any bets?

downtown nashy for Sged's belated bday

This is at Charlie Daniel's museum/store.

Here's Sgedly - soaking up the birthday sweet tea, pork loin and live music.

I'm puffing a celery stick to usher in another great year to Sged's life!

And the live band- banjo-ed "Happy Birthday Sged.. you are a Nashville superstar!"

Then Elvis patted Sgedly on the back for a big Uh-Wah-huh Birthday!! Thank you, thank you very much.

And that was a super fun Nashville Celebration in honor of our sweet Sged!
Happy Birthday Sgedly!

So we had a delightful outting!

We saw the "Vine Lady" at the Grand Ol Opry Hotel..

she's is on stilts and is kind a freaky/kind a mesmerizing.

Then we met up with Jaws!

The CRAZY part of the outing was when SGED (yes, donnie and stace, this is the same sged that we went shopping with in high school) went to TOWN shopping! =)

Here is her "Sassy" Shopping Shot!

Look out! =)

Then we sucked down a few thousand calories at Starbucks.
It was a fantabulous day!

on our "solo mission" we only sort of got lost once. =)

Tonight we are headed to downtown Nashville with Gow as the guide!
Safety first - right?

life in TN

It's been busy around here...
this is the Pumpkin Fest in downtown Franklin....
I think every festival around here is just another chance for folks to play bluegrass or country. =)

ah-- aren't we just the cutest?

our buddy Lorenzo came to visit!
He grew up in Ecuador, went on the Austria trip with us last year and is now living in Mississippi/Colorado.

check this pyscho-ness out...

do you see the lady's face?

This lady works at the Opryland hotel and is a VINE!

Lorenzo got to meet Hank Williams Sr at the ORIGINAL Grand Ole Opry!

Then we headed to dinner at Hard Rock

When Lorenzo came... we found out that two other Alliance pals were living here!!!
So Alaina came for a few nights too!! Alaina moved to Quito her JR year and was on my volleyball team, in Guardians (youth group) and in my small group. It was great to reconnect...

And it turns out David Talley lives about 30 minutes from our apartment! He grew up in Columbia and Ecuador.. incredible musician.

Talley moved here a few months back for MUSIC!! he and his band just picked it all up... and are hoping to make it HUGE in Nashville!

Here's the whole gang....

It was sooo super great to have these guys here....
to stroll down Ecuador- memory- lane and just have a grand ol time and talking about things that REALLY matter.
we are truly blessed!

We have 4 weeks left of our Financial Peace University class at church.
and are super duper looking forward to Thanksgiving in Chicago/Wisconsin with the DeVries gang. My brother and family are moving on Sunday to Wisconsin!

and now... SGED IS HERE!!
so stay tuned for some sgedly pix!

love ya'll!

a little glimpse at the "buddha belly"

Okay- first you have to know that by NO MEANS do I have a buddha belly just yet!
I really look like I had a few too many Mountain Dews and powdered doughnuts last week!

Alas- I found out last week that my brother, Neal, and his whole family are not just great folk- but SUPER HEROES at that! They had a day where they each designed capes and masks for there "Super Self" to wear! My five year old niece Emma's super hero name is "soft cape" and therefore my brother gave gow and myself super hero names as well.

Gow is chicken neck and I am buddha belly. =) hence the title of this blog.....

Okay and now...... by popular request... I will let you all have a peek at the slowly emerging buddha belly!

yes folks- if you look closely you will see some abnormal lumps and bumps on my mid section... that there is lil gowanito and it's amniotic carrying case!

=)

lil gowanito is now FOUR inches long and moving tons!
I don't think I have felt it's movement yet- but sometimes I lay awake at night trying to decide if its the baby I feel or not. =)

okay ya'll.
we love ya!
over n out.
