hello folks.
yes- this is a historical moment.
i am posting... withOUT a pix!
i don't have any new ones to post and i am not feeling creative, nor motivated to go and take some.
so... here you have it... today... you just get words. =)
sally had her 6 month appointment yesterday and has grown an inch, gained a pound and her little noggin' is still growing. =) she is now 17.10 pounds- although I would have guessed that she is 22 pounds cuz she is feeling like a rock these days! and she is now 27 inches long.
she also had another round of shots and the 1st of her flu shot.
which- i am not sure exactly what was IN those shots... but for the remainder of the day and evening... she GIGGLED. and GIGGLED. and then GIGGLED more. it was hysterical.
every time she would look up from playing to make eye contact with me... she just giggled. oh man- i sooooo wish ya'll could have shared in that. it was so super fun and a great gift from God!
another strange thing happened, not sure if it was a result from the shots or from all of the random times we have woken Sally up to go to the airport or travel... but last night at 12:30 midnight, she woke up. i mean wide awake. it was strange and hasn't happened since before she was 5 weeks old. i have no clue.
i have had a pretty deep week of thoughts... seems like there are BIG things happening in the lives of my friends and family. Some AMAZING things- and other heart wrenching, horrible things. it is hard to process, i wonder, i ask God what He is doing/allowing and why? then i think of where we are in regards to work and family etc....
i wonder what it would be like to sit beside God for a day and see/understand like He does.
do you think we will be able to do that one day in Heaven?
our church is reading "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan. here are two things that i am mulling over this week...
"Throughout time, somewhere between 45 billion and 125,000,000,000 people have lived on this earth. In 50 years (give or take a few decades) no will remember you. Everyone you know will be dead. Certainly no one will care what job you had, what car you drove, what school you attended or what clothes you wore. This can be terrifying or reassuring or a mix of both."
then a few pages later in the book, he shares this little essay written by a 14 year old girl....
"Since I have my life before me"
I'll live my life to the fullest. I'll be happy. I'll brighten up. I will be more joyful, than I have ever been. I will be kind to others. I will loosen up. I will tell others about Christ. I will go on adventures and change the world. I will be bold and not change who I really am. I will have no troubles but instead help others with their troubles.
You see, I'll be one of those people who live to be history makers at a young age. Oh, I'll have mements, good and bad, but I will wipe away the bad and only remember the good. In fact that's all I remember, just good mements, nothing between, just living my life to the fullest. I'll be one of those people who go somewhere with a mission, an awesome plan, a world-changeing plan, and nothing will old me back. I'll set an example for others, I will pray for direction.
I have my life before me. I will give others the joy I have and God will give me more joy. I will do everything God tells me to do. I will follow the footsteps of God. I will do my best!!!"
pretty optemistic eh?
i read that and get thrilled. then i remember some of the heart ache that my loved ones are feeling or remember the scars in my own life.
i want to live like that 14 year old girl wrote... regardless. yet life happens and with it comes hurts and wounds and incredibly hard times.
i have no conclusion. this is just a peek into what i am processing this week.
i am so very content in my life. my amazing family, all the incredible friends we have, our home, gow's work etc.... and so i continue to mull over these things.....
